Oscar Ortiz brings more than a decade of leadership experience across both classical charter schools and private education. Known for exercising sound executive judgments, he has experience setting priorities, sequencing initiatives, and making high-stakes decisions that strengthen academic outcomes, organizational stability, and long-term sustainability. 

Mr. Ortiz has lead schools through turnaround situations, system improvements, enrollment growth efforts, and system-level initiatives involving boards, diocesan leadership, state agencies, and community partners. 

Most recently, Mr. Ortiz led educational access and enrollment initiatives serving families across 28 counties in North Texas. His work helped build one of the region’s largest school-choice outreach efforts, generating more than 7,000 prospective student inquiries and contributing to the third-highest school-choice application totals in Texas. 

Mr. Ortiz previously served as President and Principal of Nolan Catholic High School and held Head of School and Assistant Headmaster positions with Founders Classical Academies and Great Hearts Academies.

He is fluent in English and Spanish and has spent his career serving diverse communities and building strong partnerships between schools and families. He and his wife, Natalie, are the proud parents of four children and share a deep commitment to classical education, strong families, and the formation of virtuous young men and women.

Mr. Ortiz has a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Dallas, and a Master of Arts in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College in Annapolis, Maryland. He currently is enrolled in an executive leadership program in education at the University of Notre Dame.
