Heritage Classical Academy (HCA), the first Hillsdale College Barney Charter School in Texas, is seeking a dynamic and visionary classically-trained leader for the position of Head of School. The successful candidate will begin immediately, preparing the school to open its doors in August 2025. This is a unique opportunity to lead a new classical school in Texas, dedicated to nurturing wisdom and virtue in every child through a classical education in the Western Canon.

Key Responsibilities:
 

• Implement HCA’s mission and educational vision, fostering a culture of academic excellence and moral development.

• Lead the establishment of the school, ensuring full compliance with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) requirements.

• Work with the Board of Directors to design the educational space and to create student and teacher policies and procedures for a school opening in August 2025.

• Oversee recruitment, hiring, and training of mission-aligned teachers and staff.

• Drive student enrollment, community engagement, and fundraising efforts to support school operations.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree required.

• Background in classical education with at least four years of leadership experience.

• Proven ability to manage financials, recruit top talent, and build community partnerships.

• Texas certification in school principal or educational leadership required within the first year.
