Meet Our Interrim School Supervisor

Dr. Alan Seay brings over three decades of dedicated service and transformative leadership in Texas public education. Beginning his career as a teacher and coach, he quickly rose through the ranks, holding pivotal roles including principal, assistant superintendent, and superintendent within traditional school districts. In 2011, he assumed the CEO position at A+ Charter Schools, Inc. and took on the superintendent role for A+ Academy and Inspired Vision Academy, its two inner-city charter schools. Under his stewardship, these schools rebounded from years under TEA control to become highly esteemed within North Texas, marking a significant turnaround for the organization.

After retiring from full-time public education in 2016, Dr. Seay returned to the helm in 2018 as CEO of International Leadership of Texas, a role where he restructured the organization and orchestrated the largest charter school bond sale in history. His strategic vision and operational acumen propelled ILTexas to new heights.

Dr. Seay's commitment to educational excellence led him to serve as Interim Superintendent for several prestigious institutions, including George I Sanchez Charter School, Legacy Traditional Schools of Texas, and NYOS Charter School. In those roles, Dr. Seay was able to experience first-hand several different charter school/non-profit structures and practices. He has also assumed a pivotal role on the Board of Thrive Center for Success, a pioneering charter school dedicated to serving children with autism.

Operating his consulting firm, Leadership4School, LLC, Dr. Seay continues to make a profound impact on Texas charter schools. He provides specialized board training, offers advisory services to charter school leaders and boards, and conducts specialized training for officers. He is the publisher of Texas Charter School Weekly, which provides charter leaders with invaluable information for their schools, and is the host of the weekly Texas Charter School Leaders Open Forum Zoom meeting.

Dr. Seay's expertise is further recognized through his roles as an adjunct professor at Louisiana State University – Shreveport and Dallas Baptist University, where he imparts his vast knowledge and experience to future education leaders. His unwavering commitment to educational innovation and his passion for nurturing the next generation of leaders underscore his enduring influence in Texas and beyond.

Dr. Seay’s colleagues laughingly comment on the fact that he has failed retirement miserably. He has been married to his “bride” Ginger for almost 40 years. In their free time they enjoy taking road trips and cruising.
